ITF’s Sustainable Transport and Global Outreach Advisor Olivia Wessendorff, actively engages in a variety of discussions in this session. She contributes to discussions on regional freight connectivity, focusing on Trans-European Motorway (TEM), Trans-European Railway (TER) projects, TEN-T, and the Mediterranean regions. She highlights ITF’s work on sustainable corridor development in roundtable discussions on financing transport infrastructure, emphasising its importance in supporting corridor growth across the ECE region. In a workshop, she introduces the NDC transport guidance she has been developing, focusing on the need for integrating inland transport into Member States' Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Additionally, Olivia presents ITF’s efforts under the COP29 Greening Urban Transport Initiative, which focuses on decarbonising urban mobility. She also meets with Jens Hügel, from IRU to finalise the 2025 ITF Summit sponsorship deal and explores partnerships with UNECE to support the GHG emissions reduction strategy.
