In this 30-minute online presentation and question and answer session, author Matteo Craglia presents the new ITF report “Decarbonising Europe's Trucks: How to Minimise Cost Uncertainty"  Adopting zero-emission vehicles is critical for decarbonising heavy-duty road freight, which accounts for approximately a fifth of transport sector emissions. This report examines the total cost of ownership of the most prominent zero-emission powertrain technologies. It explores whether battery electric vehicles, electric road systems or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles could compete with conventional diesel vehicles across nine different vehicle size segments in Europe. The report provides policy makers with suggestions on how to accelerate this transition and ensure that infrastructure is available to support the adoption of zero-emission trucks.
