Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

Mobility-as-a-Service for Japanese Rural Areas: Policies and projects (Webinar)

ITF Meeting ITF Meeting

Facing serious population decline and an aging society, Japan struggles to maintain public transport operations in rural areas and several suburbs. The government has established a special committee to select and support national Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) pilot projects. Ministry officials give an overview and highlight the lessons learnt from these pilot projects. A second presentation provides a more detailed account of the Shobara rural MaaS project.
