SIPA Policy Dialogue on Sustainable and Resilient Freight Connectivity in Central Asia
ITF Meeting
The ITF Secretary-General and ITF experts join this mission on transport-related work in the Sustainable Infrastructure Programme in Asia (SIPA), a 2021-2025 OECD initiative supporting cleaner energy, transport, and industry in Central and Southeast Asia. SIPA aligns infrastructure investment with the Paris Agreement and UN SDGs, particularly during post-COVID economic recovery.
ITF focuses on sustainable transport infrastructure at both regional and national levels:
- Regional Level: ITF assesses large-scale transport infrastructure to enhance connectivity, reduce environmental impact, and improve resilience. It evaluates current and planned projects through quantitative scenario analysis and proposes strategies like infrastructure investment and regulatory harmonisation.
- National Level: ITF develops sustainable transport roadmaps tailored to partner countries, identifying key transport sub-sectors, modes, technologies, and policies in consultation with national stakeholders.
