Transforming Transportation 2025

This event focuses on the skills, policies, and resources needed to implement equitable, sustainable, and resilient transport systems. Key themes include capacity building, institutional frameworks, resilience, road safety, financing, innovation, electric mobility, and accessibility. On behalf of the Secretary General, Senior Counsellor Stephen Perkins is participating in a session on e-buses alongside Chile’s Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz. He joins a WRI-hosted brainstorming on contributions to the UN Decade of Action on Sustainable Mobility, engaging in events on paratransit and e-mobility, discussing next steps on social finance for road safety with the World Bank, and collaborating with the IDB on their flagship report on public transport funding, which will be presented at the ITF Summit and launched at the ITF-IDB high-level regional dialogue in September.
