Year of ITF accession: 1992
Note: Until 2004 the Estonian road freight transport enterprises survey data were used. Since 2005 road freight transport is reported according to the EU Regulation No 70/2012 on statistical returns in respect of the carriage of goods by road, on the basis of nationality of the haulier, not on the basis of where the transport is carried out. National road transport (not the same as traffic on national territory) covers around a quarter of T-km. Road transport figures refer to international and domestic transport regardless of territory. Data collection methodology does not allow to calculate international transport (if the start or end point is in the reporting country) according to the territoriality principle. Freight transport performed by vehicles registered in Estonia is taken into account.
