Greening Urban Transport (COP29 Event)
11.00 - 12.30 AZT/UTC+4
Blue Zone. Special Event Room Mugham.
The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and United Nations Habitat, in collaboration with the ITF, co-organise this roundtable. ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim moderates the session and, alongside Chile's Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Muñoz, launches the report A Guide to Integrating Transport into Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
Taking place during Urbanisation, Tourism, and Transport Day, the roundtable serves as an in-depth exploration of Greening Urban Transport. It facilitates collaborative planning across countries, promotes resilient infrastructure, and embeds sustainability in policy. The event generates actionable strategies for integrating sustainable urban transport systems into national, regional, and urban planning frameworks, while also fostering stronger partnerships among stakeholders and governments to accelerate the decarbonisation of urban transport.
