Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

ADB Transport Forum 2018

The Asian transport sector will require over USD 8.4 trillion in investments until 2030 in order to continue the region’s growth trajectory while responding to the challenges of climate change. Policy makers must meet the challenge of closing the funding gap while financing sustainable and resilient transport infrastructure. This week the Asian Development Bank (ADB) organises the Transport Forum 2018 on "Financing the Future of Transport in Asia and the Pacific" to promote knowledge sharing in this area.

ITF continues its long history of collaboration with the bank and related Asian countries with several events at the forum:

  • 12 September: ITF's Advisor on Innovation and Technology, Katja Schechtner presents our work on the convergence of technologies including on how automated/shared electric vehicles and drones and the underlying impacts of digitalisation will change the transport during the “Innovative Technologies Plenary Session”
  • 12 September: ITF attends closed meeting for International Donors and Organisations
  • 14 September: ITF research on drones from the (Un)certain Skies? Drones in the World of Tomorrow report are presented by Ms Schechtner during the “High Technology Training Session”
