Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

The connected mobility future

In preparation for the 2019 Summit, ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim met with Andreas Scheuer, German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in Berlin on 11 February. Prior to the meeting Mr Scheuer recorded a video (inset) inviting participants to join the Summit debate on "Transport Connectivity for Regional Integration" to be held in Leipzig, Germany, from 22-24 May.

While in Berlin, Mr Kim met with representatives from leading German companies Daimler AG and Dekra as well as with Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA - the German association of the automotive industry). Secretary-General Kim then visited Leipzig, where the ITF Summit has taken place since its inception in 2008.

The 2019 Summit will take place under the Presidency of Korea. A delegation from Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) joined Mr Kim in a visit to Leipzig's Mayor, Burkhard Jung, to review preparations for the world's premier transport policy event.
