Group on Road Transport meets in The Hague
ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim held bilateral talks with Netherlands State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management, Stientje van Veldhoven, in The Hague on 14 March 2019 (photo). The meeting discussed the engagement of The Netherlands at a high political level in the ITF and the role of Ms van Veldhovenat at the ITF's 2019 Summit.
Mr Kim and Ms van Veldhoven also reviewed preparations for the ITF's 2019 and 2020 Summits and possible scenarios for international road transport in the light of Brexit. Also attending the meeting were Karin Jacobs, Head (EU) Road Transport Team, and Bob Oeloff, Coordinating Policy Advisor.
Secretary-General Kim and State Secretary van Veldhoven opened the spring 2019 Session of the Group on Road Transport on 14 and 15 March 2019 in the Dutch capital at the invitation of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of The Netherlands and the Dutch National and International Road Transport Organisation (NIWO). The Group manages the Multilateral Quota system of transport licenses for pan-European road haulage. The licenses enable hauliers to undertake an unlimited number of multilateral freight operations in 43 European member countries participating in the system.
