Transport Analyst Internship
About ITF
The International Transport Forum (ITF) is a global intergovernmental organisation with 66 member countries within the OECD family. The ITF works to foster a deeper understanding of the role of transport in economic growth, environmental sustainability and social inclusion and to raise the public profile of transport policy. It acts as a platform for discussing and pre-negotiating policy issues across all transport modes. We analyse trends, share knowledge and promote exchange among transport decision-makers and civil society.
About the Internship
The ITF is looking for a Transport Analyst Intern passionate about using data to inform policy analysis. The candidate will undertake detailed quantitative analysis and develop tools to conduct consistency checks between observed and modelled data to support the modelling team in the calibration of the passenger global models[1]. When required, the candidate will also collect data for future model calibration. The data collection will focus on historical passenger transport data (e.g. pkm, vkm, trips) for urban and non-urban settings at subnational, national, regional or global levels. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling large datasets, writing queries and with data wrangling and visualisation. The analysis and insights developed by the intern have the potential to be developed into bespoken ITF publications to generate new insights. The Transport Analyst Intern will be part of the ITF Research Centre’s Modelling Team, reporting to a Modeller/Analyst. The internship will be full-time based in the OECD headquarters in Paris. A remote internship is also an option, subject to the agreement between the candidate and the hiring manager.
