Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

Decarbonising Transport Project: Modelling Framework

The quantitative part of the project relies on the suite of transport models developed by the ITF. These models cover all regions of the world and all modes of transport for both freight and passenger. They represent a set of coherent models which can readily deliver long-term policy scenarios for transport demand and CO2 emissions and can be used as a common assessment framework. The ITF is continuously improving these quantitative tools, using data and information from the different projects and from discussions with project partners. The models are further developed to incorporate Sustainable Development Goals. The ITF works closely with other transport, energy and climate change modellers to improve the integration of ITF's transport models with other global models.

Specific models include the following:

  • International Freight
  • Domestic Surface Freight
  • International Passenger Aviation
  • Urban Passenger Mobility
  • Non-urban Passenger
