Eighty-first session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific

The 81st session gathers ministers and key stakeholders from Asia and the Pacific to discuss policies for inclusive and sustainable development. Themed on "Regional cooperation for resilient and sustainable urban development," it aims to foster inclusive urban growth and advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

 ITF Secretary-General participates and provides statements in the following sessions:

  • 21 April 2025 : Current and Emerging Policy Issues for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific
  • 22 April 2025: Regional Cooperation for Resilient and Sustainable Urban Development in Asia and the Pacific

On 22 April 2025 ITF co-organises a side event titled "Transforming Urban Transport for a Resilient and Sustainable Future," along with China, the United Kingdom, and ESCAP.

This side event features expert presentations on strategies for advancing sustainable urban transport in Asia and the Pacific. Discussions focus on enhancing accessibility, promoting electric mobility, utilising data-driven solutions, and improving equity. Participants gain insights into policy approaches, emerging technologies, and best practices for developing low-carbon, efficient, and inclusive mobility systems, aiming to inform decision-making and encourage regional collaboration in building accessible and resilient urban transport networks.
