GTMO 5+5 : Tenth Conference of the Transport Ministers of the Countries of the Western Mediterranean

The GTMO 5+5  is an informal subregional forum for cooperation on transport. It is made up of five Maghreb countries (Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya) and five countries of the Southern Europe (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Malta). Its mission is to develop regional cooperation at institutional and technical level in order to improve transport conditions in the Western Mediterranean region.

Ministerial conferences establish the work guidelines of the GTMO. And the GTMO 5+5 group of experts, made up of officials from the different national ministries and CETMO as the technical secretariat, are in charge of drawing up the 2-year work program and its implementation. In order to achieve the GTMO5+5 mission, activities of GTMO5+5 work programme are mainly focused on the exchange of knowledge and good practices, the elaboration of databases, the analysis of transport in the region and the promotion of infrastructures for a better regional integration and connection with neighbouring regions.
