The ITF Working Group “Innovative Mobility for the Periphery” examines how rural areas can benefit from innovation in the transport sector.
The Working Group’s objective is to understand how technological and social innovation can improve accessibility for rural populations. It provides a platform to exchange best practices and develop transferable approaches for transport provision in communities on the periphery. It will examine case studies to capture and evaluate a wide range of innovative delivery models, including new forms of partnerships and public, private and non-profit models.
At the first online consultation, members agreed on the scope and research priorities, and defined tasks and next steps for the Working Group.
