Taxes and Charges in Road Transport
The aim of the survey on Taxes and Charges in Road Transport is to establish an inventory of the existing road charges and taxes in Member countries and keep it up-to-date, to serve as a useful reference for transport operators and governments.
The survey is carried out by the Group on Road Transport as part of the ITF/ECMT Platform on Good Practices in International Road Transport, as wished by the Ministers in 2018 and according to the earlier mandates.
The information is being provided by the Member Countries competent Authorities and is complemented by additional sources, where possible.
Unless otherwise specified, information refers to a standard 40 tonnes semi-trailer combination, or similar vehicle. Tax rate/charges are reported for 1 March 2023.
